We reshape the sound of the region through emotionally driven music, cinematic visuals, and bold artist development — genre-blending R&B, soul, and hip-hop that amplifies some of South Florida’s most compelling voices. Vulnerability, authenticity, and vision in everything we do.
Our platform helped launch the careers of artists like Savannah Cristina and ZYA — from early singles like “Self-Care” to experimental projects like “333,” bringing raw, honest storytelling to the forefront.
Founded by Miami record executive and audio engineer Akeem Brownlee — raised in Carol City on ’90s R&B — TheNuMiami began in 2014 as a blog spotlighting South Florida artists before growing into a full label offering talent management, distribution, and artist development out of its own SoundWAV studio.
High-concept visual direction is core to what we do. We collaborate with producers, directors, and designers across South Florida and beyond to push the boundaries of R&B while staying rooted in the local culture that shaped our vision.
